Homework/Problem of the Week
The intent of regular homework is to encourage beneficial work habits, review content we are working on in class and to prepare for upcoming tests.
The Problem of the Week is intended to develop problem solving skills and perseverance. The mathematical operations required to solve them are often basic and the skills needed to successfully solve them include:
-Identifying what the problem is asking
-Identifying what the answer should look like
-Logic and deductive reasoning
-Trial and error of different strategies that could include charts, diagrams, graphs, etc.
-A test of the answer to confirm it is correct
